The reason being is the eBookstore opens by default on Nook and Barnes and Noble is only catering to those nice enough to purchase their gadget. :D With no discredit or offense toward the company, I'm more than positive you'd be better off sticking with whatever's available on the Sony Reader anyhow; Anything Nook related, especially the eBooks themselves can really run up your wallet...
