Has anyone taken the device overseas? How easy is it to transfer files from PC to the Kindle. Do you have to do a bunch of annoying file conversions ?

I plan to go to europe and the wireless will not work there. So I plan to go to internet cafes dnload a bunch of stuff to read and slap it on the kindle , I wonder if that will work?
