I am thinking about purchasing an e-book. I would really like to hear opinions before making this decision.?

The 3 that I have researched are, Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, and Barnes & Noble’s Nook. I hate to spend a chunk of money and then have it be out dated in a year. Opinions on features would be appreciated.

Are those sony readers or amazon kindles any good?
